Edward Manibusan

Edward Eladio Manibusan is the Attorney General of the Northern Mariana Islands. He is the first elected attorney general; previous AGs were appointed by the governor. Manibusan was elected in 2014, defeating attorney Michael Evangelista by about a two to one margin. He was reelected in 2018, without opposition. From 2012 to 2014 he was the chairman of the CNMI Democratic Party. In that capacity he worked to rebuild ties with the Democratic National Committee, and ensure the party ran a gubernatorial candidate in the 2014 election, after it failed to do so in 2009.
