The Environmentally Friendly Linkage System (Chinese: 環保連接系統; Cantonese Yale: Wàahnbóu Lìhnjip Haihtúng), abbreviated to EFLS and commonly called the Kai Tak Monorail (啟德單軌鐵路; Káidāk Dāan'gwái Titlouh), was a government-proposed monorail system to be located in the Kai Tak Development area, Hong Kong with 12 stations. The system's construction was estimated to start in 2018 for completion in 2023. The new links are expected to account for 15 percent of public transport in the Kowloon East Development. The system is expected to cost $12 billion Hong Kong dollars.
