Feminist foreign policy
Feminist diplomacy, or feminist foreign policy, is a concept that calls for a state to promote values and good practices to achieve gender equality, and to guarantee all women enjoy their human rights, through diplomatic relations. The practice was initiated by Margot Wallström, former Swedish Foreign Affairs Minister. Feminist foreign policy is prevalent in development aid, where financing can target and incentivize programs that prioritize gender equality. It is also prevalent in diplomacy when aiming at achieving gender parity in the number of ambassador posts.
