The flag of Silesia and Lower Silesia is a bicolor of silver and gold. The national flag consists of two horizontal stripes. The colors of the flag refer to the coat of arms of Silesia, so according to the rules of heraldry, the background color gold is at the bottom. Traditionally the flag of Silesia is also the flag of Lower Silesia, while Upper Silesia has its own flag. The colors were used together with the coat of arms of the Province of Silesia and with the coat of arms of the Province of Lower Silesia.
