Florence Crittenton Home and Maternity Hospital

Florence Crittenton Home and Maternity Hospital, also known as Crittenton Center and the Samaritan Retirement Home, were historic buildings located in Sioux City, Iowa, United States. The Sioux City Women and Babies Home Association was incorporated on October 21, 1897. They began negotiations to join the National Crittenton Foundation in 1903, and incorporated as the Florence Crittenton Home of Sioux City on February 2, 1904. The purpose of the organization was to aid the "friendless, dependent women and girls, and may receive and dispose of babies of deceased fathers or mothers, or those abandoned by them, or those surrendered to this corporation by the order of any judge, court or officer, or legal guardian."
