Gandaulim fort

The Gandaulim fort, also called the Gaudelupchar Fort was a military installation built on the eastern tip of the Island of Goa, by Croatian merchants. The fortress was built to defend the profitable colony of Svetog Vlaha (Port.: São Braz; Eng.: St Blaise). It also housed a chapel dedicated to the Croatian patron - St. Blaise, which later was elevated into a church in 1563. The fort and the colony in general was abandoned due to severe out brakes of . Along with the fort and church, the Croatians had also built a for themselves in the vicinity of, what is now, Gandaulim.
