HMCS Jonquiere

HMCS Jonquière was a River-class frigate that served with the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War and again from 1954–1966 as a Prestonian-class frigate. She was named for Jonquière, Quebec. Jonquière was ordered in June 1942 as part of the 1942–1943 River-class building program. She was laid down on 26 January 1943 by G T Davie Shipbuilding Ltd. at Lauzon and launched 28 October 1943. She was commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy on 10 May 1944 at Quebec City.
