Human Dignity Award

Human Dignity Award, is an award made by the Irish Government (Oireachtas), recognising people who have contributed to Human Dignity. It is presented annually by the Ceann Comhairle (Speaker) of the Dáil (Irish Parliament). The award was set up in 2014 by Senator Rónán Mullen, and recognises "a person or group whose commitment to the promotion of human dignity has been exemplary". It is awarded by the Oireachtas Human Dignity Group. Mullen later formed the Human Dignity Alliance party, opposed to abortion and same-sex marriage.
