Humberto Fierro

Humberto Fierro (1890 – August 23, 1929) was an Ecuadorian poet who was part of a group known as the "Generación decapitada" (Decapitated Generation). The group is called "decapitada", or decapitated, because all its members committed suicide at a young age. In 1919 Fierro published his first book titled “El laúd en el valle” (The lute in the valley), his second book "Velada palatina" (Evening palate) was published 20 years after his death in 1949.
