Hungarian football clubs in European competitions

Hungarian football clubs have entered European association football competitions (UEFA Champions League/European Cup, UEFA Cup/Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, UEFA Intertoto Cup and the now defunct UEFA Cup Winners Cup) since 1955, when MTK Budapest, Vasas Budapest and Budapest Honved took part in the inaugural Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. In the European Cup three clubs reached the semi-finals. In the 1957-58 season Vasas Budapest, in the 1964-65 season Győr and in the 1973-74 season Újpest. In the Champions League era two Hungarian clubs reached the group stages: Ferencváros in the 1995-96 season, and Debrecen in the 2009–10 season.The only Hungarian club who won any European trophies are Ferencváros by winning the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup 1964-65 season.
