The song was serviced to European radio in March 2001 and to American radio in April 2001; physical formats were issued in Australia and Europe that same month. The song peaked at number 83 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 22 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. It was the lowest Hot 100 peak of a lead single from an R.E.M. album since "Fall on Me" from Lifes Rich Pageant in 1986.
