Jaroměř

Jaroměř (Czech pronunciation: [ˈjaromɲɛr̝̊]; German: Jermer) is a town in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 12,000 inhabitants. It is located 15 kilometers northeast of the region's capital Hradec Králové. The town lies at the confluence of the rivers Úpa, Metuje and Elbe. The town includes the Fortress Josefov, a separate entity until 1948. The centre of the town is historically significant and is protected by law as Urban monument zone. The centre of Josefov is protected by law as urban monument reservation.
