Jens Holmboe (botanist)

Jens Holmboe (5 May 1880 – 24 July 1943) was a Norwegian botanist, professor and author. Jens Holmboe was born at Tvedestrand in Aust-Agder, Norway. He the oldest son of physician Michael Holmboe (1852-1918) and his wife Eleonore Vogt (1857–1901). His grandfather Jens Holmboe (1821-1891) was a prominent politician. He attended Oslo Cathedral School and studied botany at the University of Christiania (now University of Oslo).
