Jim Panther

James Edward Panther (born March 1, 1945) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He spent his college career at Southern Illinois University Carbondale where he was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity. He pitched three seasons in the majors for three teams: 1971 for the Oakland Athletics, 1972 for the Texas Rangers, and 1973 for the Atlanta Braves. He was traded from the Texas Rangers to the Atlanta Braves for Rico Carty on October 27, 1972.
