Joel S. Schuman is an American ophthalmologist, specializing in glaucoma. In 2020 he was named Elaine Langone Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Ophthalmology at NYU Langone Medical Center, NYU Grossman School of Medicine, having served as Chairman of that Department and Director of the NYU Langone Eye Center 2016-2020. In 2016 he was also appointed Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and Professor of Neuroscience and Physiology and a member of the Neuroscience Institute, at NYU Langone Health, NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
