Juan de Fustes

Juan de Fustes (1500s-1573) was a Spanish nobleman, conquistador and explorer, who arrived at the Río de la Plata in the army of Sebastián Caboto. He was born in the Canary Islands (Spain). In 1558 he participated in expeditions in the Pilcomayo River. Fustes had been held captive by the Indians during an expedition to Brazil. He had been captive by the tribe Agaces for 10 years, then he joined as a neighbor of Asunción.
