Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki

Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki (柏崎 克彦, Kashiwazaki Katsuhiko, born 16 September 1951) is a Japanese judoka, Judo World Champion, known for his mastery of sacrifice throws (sutemi waza) and ground techniques (ne waza). Kashiwazaki is from Kuji, Iwate. He began judo at the age of a 5th grader. After graduation from Tokai University, he belonged to Ibaraki Prefectural Taga high school(ja) and Tokai University. He won the silver medal of world championships in 1975 and gold medal in 1981. He wrote Fighting Judo ISBN 0720715946 with Terence Donovan, published in 1986 by Pelham Books.
