La Colle Falls Hydroelectric Dam

La Colle Falls Hydroelectric Dam is a partially complete hydroelectric dam built by the City of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The dam is located on the North Saskatchewan river approximately 45 kilometres east of the city in an area that is quite accessible. Drive east of Prince Albert approx. 6km and turn north onto River Road. Drive approx. 35km and turn north onto the sign indicating La Colle Falls. At the curve in the road, walk down the path through the trees that follow the river until you reach the dam site. Construction started in 1909 and the partially complete project was abandoned in 1913 due to high costs and technical difficulties.
