Lawrence Taliaferro Dade

General Lawrence Taliaferro Dade of "Bell Forest," (1785 in Orange County, Virginia – March 25, 1842 in Owensboro, Kentucky) was a Virginian senator and captain in the US Army. He married on May 4, 1815, in Henrico, Virginia. Lawrence entered the War of 1812 as Captain of the 2nd Regiment of the Virginia Artillery. At the time he was serving as a member of the Virginia Assembly (1808–1819). He also served as a member of the Virginia State Senate from 1819 to 1832. Before his death in 1842, he moved with his family to Owensboro, Kentucky.
