Marcello Brunelli
Marcello Brunelli (Ancona, 14 July 1939 – Pisa, 25 November 2020) was an Italian neurophysiologist and academic. He had the chair of General Physiology and Neurobiology at the University of Pisa and worked with Giuseppe Moruzzi and Eric Kandel. Together with Kandel, he obtained the first demonstration of the role of the cyclic AMP as a second messenger in the transmission of the nervous impulse.
