Mark Whitby
Mark Whitby, BSc, FICE, FREng, Hon FRIBA, (born 29 January 1950) is a British structural engineer, and a past President of the Institution of Civil Engineers (2001-2002). He co-founded the multi-disciplinary engineering practices Whitby & Bird (later known as whitbybird), Whitby & Mohajer Engineers (WME) in the UAE, and Whitby Wood in the UK. He was a British sprint canoeist, representing Great Britain at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, where he was eliminated in the semifinals of the K-2 1000 m event.
