Mary Calcaño
María Asunción Calcaño Ruiz, usually known as Mary Calcaño or by her married name Mary Keeler (1906–1992), was the first Venezuelan woman to be granted a pilot's licence. She received licence No. 73,550 from the United States Civil Aeronautics Authority on 13 November 1939 after training at Roosevelt Field, Long Island. Shortly afterwards, on 6 December, she received her Venezuelan pilot's licence.
