Mercedes Ateca
María de las Mercedes Ateca Gómez (23 December 1945 – 23 January 2021) was a Spanish road racing cyclist. She became the first Spanish national champion at the 1979 Spanish National Road Race Championships. She represented Spain at the 1978 UCI Road World Championships and 1980 UCI Road World Championships. Ateca died in Laredo on 23 January 2021, aged 75.
