New Art Examiner

The New Art Examiner is a bi-monthly international magazine of critical art thinking founded in Chicago, Illinois in October 1973 by Derek Guthrie and Jane Addams Allen. Publication ceased in 2002. The magazine was relaunched in Chicago in September of 2016 by the original publisher and co-founder, Derek Guthrie, and original era editors Michel Segard and Tom Mullaney. In 2017, there was a split between Guthrie and Segard, leading to the existence of two New Art Examiners. One is based in Chicago, IL (Segard), and the other in Cornwall, England and Washington, D.C. (Guthrie). Both publications have print and online editions.
