Peter Atkinson (architect, baptised 1780)
Peter Atkinson (baptised 1780 – 1843) was an English architect. Atkinson was educated in his profession by his father, Peter Atkinson (1735–1805). In 1801, he became his father's partner, and after his father died, he took over the business in 1805 and Matthew Phillips (c. 1781–1825) became his partner until 1819. A former pupil, Richard Hey Sharp, (1793–1853) succeeded Phillips until 1827, after which Atkinson's sons, John Bownas Atkinson (1807–1874) and William Atkinson (1811–1886) assisted their father.
