Peter Murphy (born 27 July 1941) is a Scottish-born former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s and 1960s. He played at club level for (in Kingston upon Hull), Hull Kingston Rovers (Heritage No.), Wakefield Trinity (Heritage No. 697) (Trial), (in Kingston upon Hull) and Castleford (A-Team Trial), as a left wing (4-matches for Hull Kingston Rovers) or more usually as a prop or second-row, i.e. number 8 or 10, or, 11 or 12, during the era of contested scrums.
