Politics of Gujarat

On 1 May 1960, the Indian State of Gujarat was created out of the 17 northern districts of former State of Bombay. These districts were later further subdivided. There are 33 administrative districts in the state (as of 2018). Unlike other cities, Gandhinagar has its own administrative body, 'The Capital Project division', created by the Government of Gujarat in 1965 for Balanced & Deciplinate System in Gandhinagar capital city.
