The Post-'80s (also the Post-1980s, simplified Chinese: 八零后; traditional Chinese: 八零後; pinyin: Bā líng hòu; Yue Chinese: 八十後, romanized: baat3 sap6 hau6 or Yue Chinese: 八零後, romanized: baat3 ling4 hau6) is a colloquial term which refers to the generation, especially in urban cities, whose members were born between 1980 and 1989 in Mainland China after the introduction of the one-child policy and the Post-80s is a reference to the Generation Y in the Western World. This generation, the first to grow up entirely within the reformist era, currently ranges in age from 31 to 41, making up a major portion of China's young adult demographic.
