Quarraisha Abdool Karim is the Associate Scientific Director of the Centre for the AIDS Programme of Research in South Africa (CAPRISA) and Professor in Clinical Epidemiology at Columbia University, in the United States. Recognised as one of the leading HIV scientists, Abdool Karim holds an A1 rating from the National Research Foundation (NRF) in South Africa. She is the Pro-Vice Chancellor for African Health at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.
