Resident minister
A resident minister, or resident for short, is a authoritative general required to take up permanent residence in usually a colony, dependency or protectorate. A representative of his government, he formally has diplomatic roles which are often seen as a form of indirect rule. A resident usually heads an administrative area called a residency.
