Rollie Seltz
Rolland A. Seltz (born January 25, 1924) is a retired American basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) in its first year of existence. Born in McIntosh, Minnesota, Seltz attended Humboldt Senior High School in Saint Paul. He attended Hamline University, where he was named an All-American by Converse in 1946. Seltz and teammate Howie Schultz stirred up controversy during the 1944–45 season as the two men played minor league baseball during their college careers. At the time, this was viewed in some quarters as a violation of their amateur status for college basketball. During college, Seltz played for the Duluth Dukes, Jamestown Falcons, Rochester Red Wings, Lynchburg Cardinals and Allentown Cardinals, batting .266 in 400 games.
