Rose Ann Shannon is a retired American television journalist from Omaha, Nebraska. She was the first female to be hired as a full-time journalist (in 1973) at KMTV, Omaha's CBS affiliate and later served as news director at KETV, the city's ABC affiliate station from 1993 until she retired in 2018. She a member of the Nebraska Women Journalist's Hall of Fame. and the Omaha Press Club Hall of Fame. Shannon grew up in the Benson neighborhood of Omaha and attended the University of Nebraska - Omaha. is married to Phil Johnson, who worked as a photojournalist at the Omaha World-Herald.
