Ru-Sankya

Ru-Sankya is the Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting Network Project undertaken by the Government of Sri Lanka (GOSL). It set a target to introduce digital technology television broadcasting in “Mahinda Chintana” by 2017. The “Roadmap" for the Transition from Analogue to Digital was compiled with the assistance of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). GOSL decided to adopt Japanese standard, Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting Terrestrial (ISDB-T), in order to increase information accessibility for the entire country by promoting the effective utilization of frequency resources.
