Samuel Linnaeus
Samuel Linnaeus, born in 1718 in and died in 1797, was Carl Linnaeus' younger brother. Linnaeus became a student at the University of Lund in 1738, but moved in 1742 to Uppsala, where his brother Carl year before had become a professor. Samuel researched in the Palmskiöldska collection. The following year he moved back to Lund, where he was November 30, 1743 and December 10, 1744 PhD at Sven Lagerbring on the topographic dissertation De Wexionia ("About Växjö"), which contains a detailed description of Växjö Cathedral before the fire in 1740. He became Master in 1745 and succeeded his father (died 1748) as a priest in Stenbrohult. He has published about beekeeping.
