Sergey Kalyakin

Sergey Kalyakin (Belarusian: Каля́кін Сярге́й; born 16 June 1952 in Minsk) is a politician, leader of the Belarusian Left Party "A Just World" (until 2009 - the Party of Communists of Belarus). The nephew of Mikalay Dzyemyantsyey, Chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the Byelorussian SSR. In 1977 he graduated from the Minsk Radio Engineering Institute, radio engineer qualification. In 1992 he received a diploma of political scientist at the Belarusian State University. He was a member of the CPSU since 1977. In 1991, he joined the newly formed Party of Belarusian Communists.
