Setsuo Yamada

Setsuo Yamada (山田 節男, Yamada Setsuo, December 26, 1898 - January 8, 1975) was the Mayor of Hiroshima from 1967 until his death. He served as member of the Upper House of the Diet in the early years after the Second World War, and in that capacity helped in 1949 to pass the law proclaiming Hiroshima a city of peace. He died of lung cancer.
