Slim Embry

Charles Akin Embry (August 17, 1901 – October 10, 1947), was a Major League Baseball pitcher who played in 1923 with the Chicago White Sox. He batted and threw right-handed. Slim played baseball for the Vanderbilt Commodores from 1921 to 1923. The Commodores were champions of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association in 1921, and Slim was captain of the team in 1923. He was also a member of the basketball team in 1921–1922 and 1922–1923. Embry graduated from Vanderbilt with a degree in law in 1923.
