Tadhg Murphy

Tadhg Murphy (born 1956 in Glanmire, County Cork, Ireland) is an Irish former sportsperson. A dual player at the highest levels, he played hurling and Gaelic football with his local clubs Sarsfields and and was a member of the Cork senior inter-county teams in both codes from 1976 until 1984. A year after Séamus Darby had scored a late goal to deny Kerry five All-Ireland titles in a row, Tadhg scored a late goal in the 1983 Munster Football Final to beat Kerry and knock them out of the Championship. Mark Keane scored a similarly late goal for Cork that knocked Kerry out of the 2020 Munster Senior Football Championship (and 2020 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship).
