William Mack Brown (born August 27, 1951) is the former head coach of the University of Texas Longhorn football team. Through 2008 the Texas Longhorns football team under Mack Brown have had a winning season for all eleven seasons since Brown took over the program for the 1998 season. As of 2008, they have won at least ten games in each of the past eight seasons; that is the longest active streak in the nation. Brown's Longhorns won the 2005 National Championship and seven of their ten bowl games. In 2006 he was awarded the Paul "Bear" Bryant Award for "Coach of the Year".
