The British Journal of Sociology is a peer-reviewed academic journal that was established in 1950 at the London School of Economics. It represents the mainstream of sociological thinking and research and publishes high quality papers on all aspects of the discipline, by academics from all over the world. The journal has been considered to be among "the highest-status journals [that] are the leaders in their particular field". It is one of the three main sociology journals in the United Kingdom, along with Sociology and The Sociological Review.
