Thomas R. Mitchell

Thomas Rothmaler Mitchell (May 1783 – November 2, 1837) was a U.S. Representative from South Carolina. Born in Georgetown, South Carolina, in May 1783, Mitchell graduated from Harvard University in 1802, where he studied law. He was admitted to the bar in 1808, and commenced practice in Georgetown, South Carolina. He was reelected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-second Congress (March 4, 1831– March 3, 1833). He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1832 to the Twenty-third Congress. He died in Georgetown, South Carolina, November 2, 1837.
