U.S. Agency for Global Media

The U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), formerly the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), is an independent agency of the United States government that operates various state-run media outlets. It describes its mission, "vital to US national interests", to "inform, engage, and connect people around the world in support of freedom and democracy" and in accordance with the "broad foreign policy objectives of the United States". It is considered an arm of US diplomacy.
