Utekáč

Utekáč is a village and municipality in the Poltár District in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia. In the middle of Veporské vrchy, in the narrow valley of the Rimavica river, the village Utekáč is situated. Its name is derived from the útek (meaning escape) of Hungarian king Bela IV ahead of the Tatars. The first mention about Utekáč is from the year 1593.
