Varín

Varín is a village and municipality in Žilina District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia. It is located at the Malá Fatra National Park and also serves as a tourist resort. The villagers named one of the streets after a Slovakian war criminal Jozef Tiso, a catholic priest, president of the clero-fascist first Slovak Republic and eager supporter of Adolf Hitler and nacist ideology. The villagers do not mind that Jozef Tiso was convicted and executed for being politically responsible for mass murders of tens of thousands of Slovakian nationals due to his hatred to Jews and partisans.
