Varfolomey Alexandrovich Zaytsev (Russian: Варфоломей Александрович Зайцев, 11 September 1842, Kostroma, Imperial Russia, – 20 January 1882, Clarens, Switzerland, Switzerland) was a Russian literary critic, historian, journalist, and publicist. He was a leading figure of the Russian nihilist movement in literary publication of his time.
