Whiteleaved Oak

Whiteleaved Oak is a hamlet in the English county of Herefordshire, lying in a valley at the southern end of the Malvern Hills between Raggedstone Hill and Chase End Hill where the counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire meet. On the 9th July 2020, the famed 500 year old whiteleaved oak tree was destroyed by fire. * * * This tree might have been 'destroyed' by fire but it was already dead ~ a sad indictment of those whose job it is to monitor our heritage that it took a match to get them to pay attention.
