Wijnand Vermeulen
Wijnand Vermeulen (c. 1939 – 7 April 2021) was a Dutch honorary member of Dutch football club AZ Alkmaar where he worked as a board member, general affairs manager and stadium manager. He worked for 32 years for the football club until his retirement in 2013. In 1987 he had a confrontation with the assistant trainer at the time Louis van Gaal. Van Gaal wanted to implement changes during that period and had a clash with the board. After the incident with Vermeulen, Van Gaal left AZ Alkmaar in November 1987.
