Analysis of the proteome of intracellular Shigella flexneri reveals pathways important for intracellular growth.The synthesis of OspD3 (ShET2) in Shigella flexneri is independent of OspC1.Expression of different bacterial cytotoxins is controlled by two global transcription factors, CRP and Fis, that co-operate in a shared-recruitment mechanism.
