The Trojans shut out their opponents eight times and allowed only 13 points the entire year. The team reportedly had the best defense in the history of the program. The defensive line consisted of All-American Aaron Rosenberg, Tay Brown, Ernie Smith, J. Dye, B. Gentry, Ray Sparling, Robert Erskine, Curtis Youel, and Julius Bescos.
