The 1978 Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Tournament was held March 3–5 at Dahlberg Arena at the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana. Weber State upset top-seeded Montana in the championship game, 62–55 (in overtime), to clinch their first Big Sky men's basketball tournament. The Wildcats, in turn, received an automatic bid to the 1978 NCAA Tournament.
